Renaissance Faire Costume - Sewing Project

One of my friends had the great idea to make Renaissance Faire Costumes for the Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire. I used this as an excuse to make my next big sewing project.

I sewed the entire costume myself—I used a Simplicity Pattern for the bodice, an online pattern (with some alterations) for the chemise, and made a simple (and my first!) circle skirt for the top skirt layer. I left the edges unfinished on the chemise and the skirt for a more rustic feel. This project probably took me around 20 hours in total, for making three bodices, two dresses, and one top skirt (I helped make my friends' costumes as well).

I ran out of time to make my boyfriend a pirate shirt (he ended up borrowing one from my brother), so that shirt will probably be my next project!
